Until very recently the Republic of Photography's Ezra Street studio (right beside Columbia Road Flower Market) was home to an immersive and fun celebration of portraiture and photography involving members of the public. We called it ROP Sundays.

These free shoots attempted to reveal different aspects of personality, identity and spirit while at the same time exploring the myriad possibilities of great photography. Described as a form of photo theatre Rop Sundays became something of an East End Institution. Over eleven years photographer Seamus Ryan charted the lives of an ever changing and vibrant community through the medium of portraiture.

Although Rop Sundays has now ended the shoots will continue. We are currently looking into venues in the area for more public shoots. Watch this space and follow us on Facebook for updates.
